Drennan 13ft Tench Float Rod - 5th Generation NEW!
This is the latest version (5th generation) of the famous Drennan tench float rod, and it uses the new Drennan 'Compact Design'. It's a 13ft float rod but it breaks down like a 12ft 2 piece rod, giving two equal length longer sections and a separate 1ft (30cm) lower handle. Note that it is only the bottom part of the handle that is detached - below the reel the seat. With this system, a 13ft rod like this becomes as easy to transport as a 2 piece 12ft rod. It avoids the tangles associated with made-up 3 piece rods, and the longer sections allow you to leave float rigs set up at greater depths. Importantly, the design also reduces the number of joints in front of the reel seat, so both the balance and action are significantly improved.
This is the rod of choice if you are targetting hard fighting tench, barbel or medium sized carp, as it features a fast tip and a semi through action which provides excellent casting. The rod also features full s.i.c guides. Ideal reel lines are from 3lb to 7lb.
This is a beautifully made, thoughtfully designed rod - simply superb!
Supplied with a green protective fully zipped ready-rod sleeve, together with 3 velcro straps to hold the rod sections in place whilst in transit. The sleeve also has a pocket with 3 reversible wipe-clean marker cards on which to record line & rig details.
